Jewelry Making Kit for Kids

My daughter and I make jewelry together often. I purchased beads, elastic and other jewelry making supplies from a variety of places over time and decided it would be a great idea to make her a jewelry making kit. I also wanted every supply in one box. It was easy to make and fun! This is an idea for you on how to make one yourself if you’d like for your loved one or for yourself. A full video tutorial is at the bottom of this post. If you make one and post pictures of it, please mention pinkithink.com or use #pinkithinkcom hashtag. I’d love to see what you create. You can easily make this kit into a kit for grown-ups by adding additional supplies such as metal wire, jewelry tools for bending, other jewelry tools, etc.

Supplies you may need:

  1. Large box – preferably clear (I used a 12 x 12 scrapbooking box)
  2. Small boxes for organizing beads
  3. Elastic for jewelry or metal wire if you are making a grown-up version
  4. Jewelry-making tray
  5. Other jewelry items that you’d like to add such as earring hooks, jewelry findings, tools, etc.

Pictures and a Bit of Direction:

Place organized beads into the box, then add some elastics (could be in different colors or just one type), jewelry tray, and anything else you may need in your box.

I also decided to personalize the box for my daughter a bit. So, I cut out her name and other text using my Cricut Maker machine (I used vinyl material):

And, this is how the box came out:
